Meet Tordrillo Mountain Lodge Alaska Heli Skiing Guide Jon Hunt!
Alaskan Heli Skiing Guide – Jon Hunt
The first week of the 2016 Alaska heli skiing season is underway and our guest are enjoying deep powder skiing in the Tordrillo Mountains. In today’s blog post we’re featuring another one of our fantastic heli skiing guides. It is time to learn more about Tordrillo Mountain Lodge heli skiing guide, Jon Hunt.
Jon Hunt grew up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and has lived and skied there his whole life. He has worked in many aspects of the ski industry, from ski racing to ski filming and now guiding. In 1992, Jon first experienced the Chugach Range in Valdez, Alaska, where he won the World Extreme Skiing Championship. In the years following, along with Doug & Emily Coombs and others, Jon pioneered many peaks and runs in the range. This experience naturally led to thirteen great years of Alaska guiding experience. When not at Tordrillo Lodge, his favorite place to ski, Jon guides at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
Jon Hunt is one of the finest powder skiers we have around on the TML guide roster. No doubt that 20 plus years as an Alaskan guide, Jackson local, and renowned athlete, make him uniquely qualified to find the powder and keep you safe. Jon is back this season from his medical leave to replace his knee. Expect the same smooth operator, and maybe a little more. Jon spends his early season in Jackson skiing with guests in the JHMR backcountry as a resort guide. Jon skis guests though the best lines…behind the lines. His insatiable desire to deliver the goods takes to a higher level when operating from a helicopter instead of on his feet. His keen eyes can be trusted. For those who get to ski with him, consider yourself in the very best hands.
